Mounting and use instructions

Mounting:

Place helmet on a flat surface.  If the edge of the brim is relatively flat, use the top slot of the Helmet Wedge and place three clamps on the brim at the 5, 7 and 12 o’clock positions (see illustration 1).

If any section of the brim has an upward sweep, you can use a mix of top and bottom slots so that all of the clamps are level.

Make sure all the clamps are pushed onto the brim as far as possible, and then use the helmet and the Helmet Wedge clamps as a template and mark where the holes should be drilled.  

After marking the holes of the single clamp at the 12 o’clock position, move the clamp inward (towards the 5 and 7 clamps) ¼”.  Mark again and drill (this insures a tight fit).

Use three ¼”screws or bolts and washers to mount each clamp. The bolts or screws should be snug, but do not over tighten, as the rubber just deflects.

IN USE:

To insert the helmet, push the brim into the 5 and 7 o’clock clamps.  Then push the top of the 12 o’clock clamp backward enough to allow the brim to enter the appropriate slot.  To remove the helmet, reverse the procedure.
